Capcom Will Be Giving ‘Resident Evil Zero’ The HD Remake Treatment

Late last year, Capcom surprised beleaguered Resident Evil fans by announcing that the excellent GameCube remake would be receiving an HD makeover. The HD Resident Evil was released earlier this year and received quite well, so Capcom is now following up with a remastering of the other GameCube Resident Evil game.

According to Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, Resident Evil Zero will be re-released on the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 in early 2016. No word on a worldwide release yet, but that’s obviously coming.

For those who didn’t own a GameCube, Resident Evil Zero is a prequel to the original game, starring Rebecca Chambers and accused murderer Billy Coen. It basically lays out the hows and whys of the original T-virus outbreak and lets you in on more of Wesker’s machinations. Also, there’s zombie monkeys in it. It’s not as good as the Resident Evil Remake, but it’s pretty solid and, in my opinion, actually kind of underrated, so I’m glad to see it get another shot in the spotlight.

What about you? Interested in tackling an HD version of Resident Evil Zero?
