‘Kung Fury’ Is A Glorious ’80s Fever Dream With Dino Cops And David Hasselhoff

Kung Fury, the tale of a kung fu cop battling a time-traveling Adolf Hitler, is now on YouTube, and it needs to be seen to be believed.

Back in 2013, Kung Fury writer, director, and star David Sandberg launched a Kickstarter campaign so that he could finish the visual effects on his masterpiece of ’80s nostalgia. Based on the trailer, which included kung fu master Adolf Hitler and computer hacking time travel, Uproxx called it one of the must-see movies of 2014.

The Kickstarter ended up raising three times more money than their initial goal, and last September, the release date was pushed to 2015. In a post on the project’s Kickstarter page, Sandberg wrote that he wanted to make something really great for all their donors, and the production needed more time to finish the visual effects:

To us, the most important thing is that Kung Fury gets to be as fantastic as we can make it. We want it to live up to what the trailer promised and a lot more!

Donors of $15 or more got to see the movie a little bit sooner than everyone else, but the completed film is now available to anyone with access to YouTube. What can viewers expect from Kung Fury?

1. Skateboard Flips

2. Dinosaur Cops

Kung Fury - Triceracop

3. Killer Video Games (And Lots Of Exploding Heads)

You can watch the whole movie on YouTube, and don’t miss the Kung Fury music video “True Survivor,” featuring the one and only David Hasselhoff. When your movie raises more than $630,000 on Kickstarter, you can afford The Hoff.
