‘Clever Sloth’: What If ‘Jurassic Park’ Was Based On Different Geologic Periods?

“Jurassic” isn’t just a word Michael Crichton dreamed up because “Big Bitey Dinosaur Park” was too on the nose. It refers to a specific geologic period that took place between 200 million and 145 million years ago. Jurassic was clearly a pretty rad time, but what if Jurassic Park had been based on different geologic periods?

CollegeHumor imagines just that, taking us to Devonian Park (the age of fish and giant salamanders), Ordovician Park (watch out for those killer starfish) and Pre-Cambrian Park (early single-celled protista!). Yup, that’s right, I just fooled you into learning something about geology. Suckers.
