Jurassic World finally hits theaters today, and it’s picking up solid reviews and will almost certainly make more money than an actual dinosaur park would, so one of the questions becomes, what does Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow do next? Could he stay in that whole Spielberg/Lucas family and work on one of the upcoming Star Wars films?

Well, /Film asked Trevorrow exactly that, and it seems like it’s something he’s been considering.

“Yeah, I can’t say no to that idea. Look, I think you’d know I was lying if I said I would never ever do a Star Wars film.”

Hmmm, so which Star Wars movie might Trevorrow be up for? Perhaps that rumored spin-off starring Boba Fett? Well, don’t bet on that particular scenario…

“I could tell you absolutely, 100 percent for sure I’m not doing or involved in the Boba Fett one. And I’m sure they’ll find a great filmmaker to do it. And I’m so impressed with the choices they have made. And I think specifically Rian Johnson is such an awesome filmmaker. And I’m so excited to see what he does.”

Colin Trevorrow working on a Star Wars movie isn’t a particularly far-fetched scenario, as he was almost involved in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Back when Brad Bird was in the running to direct Episode 7, he wanted Trevorrow to prep he movie for him while he wrapped up work on Tomorrowland. Obviously, that never panned out, but Trevorrow is clearly on a lot of important radars. What do you think? Interested in seeing Colin Trevorrow on Star Wars, or are there are other names you’d rather see in the director’s chair first?
