The 10 Best E3 2015 Trailers You Might Have Missed

We here at GammaSquad have been doing our best to keep you up to date on all the big game announcements and trailers coming out of E3 2015 (just search for E3 2015 or click here to check out all the news), but as always, some things fall through the cracks.

With that in mind, here are a few of the most exciting E3 trailers that we haven’t covered yet, and which you may have overlooked…

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst

Mirror’s Edge is looking as slick as ever in its latest trailer, which hints at the game’s storyline. Between Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and the amazing-looking Star Wars Battlefront, EA and DICE absolutely delivered the most impressive tech of E3.

Persona 5

Atlus’ wacky high school sim/dungeon hacking mashup, Persona finally returned at this year’s E3. The debut trailer for Persona 5 delivers all the sexy anime cool you’d expect, and even showed us some action-packed gameplay footage. If you’re into the quirky Japanese side of gaming, you’re going to want to check this one out.

Earthbound Beginnings

One of the most surprising announcements of E3 (well, until Sony started dropping bombs during their press conference) was that Nintendo is releasing the original 8-bit version of Earthbound on the Wii U. The NES Earthbound has never been available legally outside of Japan before, so this is pretty big news for the legions of dedicated Earthbound fans out there.

Hitman

The Hitman series is getting the ol’ reboot treatment and seemingly going in a somewhat more serious direction (no vinyl-clad nuns in this one). We actually got two new Hitman trailers at E3. I’ve posted the gameplay trailer above, but I suggest also checking out the story trailer, since it was one of my stylish things we saw at this year’s E3.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water

A few years back Nintendo bought Tecmo’s wonderfully creepy Fatal Frame series, and has been depriving Western audiences ever since, only releasing new Fatal Frame games in Japan. Well, that finally changes, as Nintendo announced Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will hit the Wii U this year. The series looks as scary as ever, and the Wii U GamePad should match up well with the series’ photography-based gameplay.

For Honor

Ubisoft sticks to the historical stuff with For Honor, a new IP that puts you in the middle of bloody battles between knights, vikings, and samurai. It’s not the most high-minded premise, but For Honor looks like some good, violent fun with a decent amount of depth.

Super Smash Bros.

It’s time to welcome a new challenger, because it turns out all those rumors about Street Fighter‘s Ryu being in Super Smash Bros. were absolutely true! Given his vast fighting game experience, Ryu looks like he’s going to be a bit of a beast, boasting not one, but two Final Smashes.

Firewatch

Firewatch was one of the more intriguing indie games shown off at E3. You play as a park ranger on forest fire watch in a Wyoming. The only other human you have contact with is your supervisor, who you can only talk to through your walkie-talkie. She and you have to discover what happened to two missing women, and you might form a bit of a budding relationship in the process. Oh, and at some point you get to pick up an adorable baby box turtle, so yeah, I’m on board.

Ashen

Ashen is a new stylish action-adventure game in which you forge a relationship and solve puzzles with another character. Basically, it looks a lot like Ico, but more Ico definitely isn’t a bad thing.

Just Cause 3

Forget innovation or clever concepts, Just Cause 3 makes this list because its trailer delivered the most glorious, cutting edge explosions of any game at E3. Just Cause 3 is promising a 400-square-mile game world that’s absolutely packed with things that are primed to burst into flames at the slightest provocation. The trailer also lays out the game’s storyline and stuff, but that’s kind of beside the point. Explooooosions!
