‘Captain America: Civil War’ Will Explain Where Thor Is

One point that’s come up as you look over Marvel’s upcoming slate is that you don’t see much Thor until his third solo movie, Thor: Ragnarok. He doesn’t even show up for the big superhero fights of Captain America: Civil War. But, according to Jaimie Alexander, they’ll at least explain why he’s not swinging his hammer.

It’s because Tony and Reed Richards put him on a rocket and shot him into space. Kidding! We don’t know why, beyond the fact that Chris Hemsworth is too busy showing off his pants-hammer to Ed Helms. But it will come up in the movie, according to Sif herself, Jaimie Alexander:

There’s a lot of great stuff they’ve peppered in through Agents of SHIELD, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War will have some stuff. There’s just all kind of Easter eggs and hunts, if you’re really paying attention. They’re so good at interweaving everything throughout those films.

One assumes she’s referring to the upcoming season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., because the last one was more about the Inhumans and Kyle MacLachlan owning the room. Just as a reminder, the last Thor movie ended with Loki in disguise as Odin, running the entirety of Asgard. So, yeah, that probably won’t end well. We’ll find out July 28, 2017, when Thor: Ragnarok arrives in theaters.
