The Flash Gets An Upgrade For His Second Season In This Highlight Reel

Shared during San Diego Comic-Con, there isn’t a lot of new footage in this teaser for Season 2 of The Flash. But there’s new dialogue, and a lot of it is intriguing! Where to start…

  • First off, that helmet from last season’s finale wasn’t just a sight gag: Jay Garrick, the original Flash, will be in the second season.
  • The footage features Barry searching for something, and Barry’s powers have gotten an odd change; his lightning, formerly yellow, is now blue. Of course, this assumes that the speedster in this footage, which appears to be recolored effects footage from Season 1, is supposed to be Barry in the first place.
  • Barry is obviously pretty conflicted about how the first season finale played out, which sounds like a theme going forward for the season.
  • Tom Cavanagh fans rejoice; apparently he’s making like Malcolm Merlyn and surviving the first-season finale. How he pulls that one off is anybody’s guess, but his voice is all over this trailer, which ends with “Zoom Is Coming.” It also sounds, a lot, like he’s going to rescue Barry’s mom which should… end interestingly.
  • Cisco does not sound, from his dialogue, to be enjoying his vibration powers very much.
  • It sure sounds a lot like Caitlin quit STAR Labs after the events of the first season.

There’s a lot to chew over here, and we’ll have plenty of time to do it: The second season of The Flash premieres Oct. 6.
