‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Casting Hints At What Happens In ‘The Force Awakens’

Yes, we know, Star Wars: The Force Awakens isn’t even out yet, and won’t be for another three months. But, hey, movies are big, complicated things, and besides, without sequels already filming, we wouldn’t have fun bits to speculate about.

First of all, this may or may not be a spoiler, so you’ve been warned. Anyway, the Irish Examiner, in the middle of reporting on weather delays for the Star Wars: Episode VII shoot, happened to let it slip that Mark Hamill is on the set.

Of course, that could mean anything; it’s worth noting that Episode VIII is so early in the shoot they’ve just now cast the villain. This could be anything, a flashback, a dream sequence, or Luke showing up as one of those Force ghosts. The rumors surrounding the plot have been so wild, pretty much anything is likely right now. Still, it seems that no matter what happens, the franchise isn’t done with that nerf herder just yet.

Still, this does tell us Luke is somehow involved, and it wouldn’t be the first time the action some Jedi took years ago has consequences well after the fact. Or maybe Luke just goes on vacation; after all he’s been through, the poor guy’s earned it.
