‘Batman V Superman’ May Be The Most Expensive Movie Ever

Earlier this month a rumor was going around that the combined budget for both Avengers: Infinity War movies is $1 billion, which — to put it in perspective — would be more per film than the most expensive movie in non-inflation-adjusted dollars (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at $410 million). But it looks like we may not have to wait that long to see the record broken. A new rumor from Latino Review claims the budget for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice has already ballooned to $410 million.

The reason for the huge outlay is reportedly Warner’s desire to kick off their shared cinematic universe with no expenses spared. The two Justice League movies coming after will reportedly have a more reasonable budget. Latino Review says the two-part Justice League will have a 16-month production run at a total cost of $500 million.

To be fair, we don’t know how much of Batman V Superman‘s rumored $410 million (and counting?) budget is going to be covered by corporate sponsorships. For comparison, Man Of Steel made more than $170 million on ad tie-ins and free advertising spots before the movie even opened.

If all of these rumors pan out, that means Batman V Superman and the Avengers: Infinity War movies are all around half a billion dollars apiece. Money fight? Money fight.

When Batman and Iron Man money fight, Spider-Man wins.
