Let’s Liveblog Tuesday’s Geeky TV: ‘The Flash’ Lights It Up, ‘Agents Of SHIELD’ Goes To Space

Tuesdays are a double feature of nerdery, and this week, we’ve got two rather promising episodes. Tonight on The Flash, we meet a cast member of Legends of Tomorrow; there’s been some speculation as to who, exactly, Franz Drameh is playing… and it turns out he’s Firestorm’s friend Jefferson Jackson. Or Jackson Jefferson: The comics are notably vague on how this obscure character is named, so much so he’s credited as “Jax.” We assume he will not rip anybody’s arms off.

Anyway, he’s called in to merge with Victor Garber. No, as Firestorm. Why they’d call him in when the show has firmly established Jason Rusch is running around is anybody’s guess, but hey, we’re getting Firestorm back. Hopefully they explain the personality overlap “thing” to Jax first. We’ll find out at 8 p.m. EST tonight on the CW.

Meanwhile, over on Agents of SHIELD, after last week’s shocking death, we watch May beat the ever-loving sh*t out of Hunter for forty-five straight minutes. Okay, fine, actually we find out how Simmons survived being sent to an alien planet. Yes, it’s an extended Arrow flashback, just on an entirely different series! Yay?

Joking aside, this will be interesting, but between the werewolf eating Inhumans and Ward demonstrating yet again he’s not just evil, but also a dick, we’re hoping the entire episode isn’t just Simmons being adorable on an alien planet; we kinda need some closure. Or at least five minutes of May whaling on Hunter. We’ll see if we get that tonight at 9 p.m. EST on ABC. Join us, won’t you?
