‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ Will See Han, Leia, And Palpatine Take The Field

During the Star Wars: Battlefront beta, players who found a special power-up got to be Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker for a few joyful seconds before losing, sometimes painfully. Fans wondered if they were going to be the only playable heroes, and it turns out, more will be joining in when the full game comes out.

Leia, Han, and Palpatine will all be available when the full game ships. Leia’s the medic: When you become her, everyone around you becomes Alderaanian Honor Guards and you get defensive buffs for the team to use. Since she’s a crack-shot, she can one-hit-kill troopers. She can also shoot through her shield, so, as usual with Star Wars, if you see Leia, you might want to get out of blast range.

Han is the tank; he’s got rapid-fire abilities, he can shoot vehicles out of the air and charge into, or away from, battle. The sarcasm comes free of charge. And Palpatine is, what else, the wizard, handing out powerups and throwing around Force Lightning.

One hopes this isn’t the end; after all, Chewie remains unaccounted for, and the Empire could still use another bad guy. Then again, it doesn’t have a deep bench, either. Who wants to grab that powerup and become General Veers?
