This ‘Star Wars Battlefront’ TV Spot Delivers Nostalgia And Star Wars Fan Defenestration

Ads for Star Wars Battlefront should be hitting TV soon, and they’re packed with plenty of warm, comfy nostalgia. The ad features an early 30-something office drone daydreaming his way through his favorite Star Wars-related memories until his buddy shows up outside his office window in an X-wing. Office guy then jumps out the window and soars off to adventure. What adult of a certain age can’t relate to having lightsaber duels with flashlights or dressing up as Yoda for Halloween? It’s a nice commercial, that nicely sums up the appeal of Star Wars Battlefront. It’s a way for grown-up kids to still play Star Wars!

Of course, you can read the commercial in another, somewhat darker way. It could be the story of an unfufilled office drone wistfully remembering the last times he was last happy, the X-wing outside the window a mere delusion produced by his Star Wars addeled mind. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that’s not the intended message.

If you want to try testing out a Beta version of Star Wars Battlefront, you can do that right here. Beware, there is a lot of dying, and even more cussing. Star Wars Battlefront arrives in stores, November 17.
