The newest trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiered Monday night, and feels were had. But, of all the emotional reactions to the footage, two people who definitely have a good reason to have an intense outburst of joy at seeing some of this footage for the first time are Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, who landed the life-changing roles of Rey and Finn in the film.
Just after the trailer premiered, Daisy Ridley posted the reaction video above. She’s at a bed and breakfast with a friend in a time zone which required setting an alarm to wake up late at night to watch the trailer. The combination of late night sleepyheadedness and holy-crap-I’m-in-a-Star-Wars-movie excitement leads to the understandably emotional reaction seen above.
A few hours later, John Boyega — who said he cried when he read the script — posted his own reaction. No crying this time, but it does feature him keeping his cool until (we assume) the scene where he faces down Kylo Ren with a lightsaber, at which point he falls out. Justified.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens releases this December 18, and we’re already bracing for all the feels.
