Chris Hemsworth Admits Prisoners Went Wild For His ‘Thor’ Hammer During A Visit

It seems that Thor of Asgard and more importantly, the actor who portrays him, Chris Hemsworth, has incredible mass appeal, which crosses over to the incarcerated populace.

During a visit to The Graham Norton Show, Hemsworth shared that he paid a visit to a prison while conducting research for his film, Blackhat. The actor explained when he went to the prison, he became quite the conversation fodder from the prisoners who could not help but be enamored with the star who was still sporting long hair at the time of the visit.

Hemsworth was initially worried that the prisoners were going to recognize who he was, but then he thought, “No, they don’t get Thor in here, they’re not going to watch movies, and, I don’t know, I’d never been to prison. I assumed that.”

Needless to say, the prisoners still got access to Thor behind bars:

“And the moment I started walking through the cells … I just start getting heckled. It’s like, ‘Yo yo, Thor’s here, man. Yo Thor’s here, yo Thor, Thor! Where’s your hammer man?’ And I’m trying to blend in, doing ‘research,’ and I’m just getting heckled left and right. ‘Yo come spend some time in my cell, baby!'”

One can’t really fault the prisoners’ enthusiasm and now I’m itching to see Thor’s Hammer vs Adebisi’s hat in a prison battle of the ages.
