(Potential spoilers from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.)
We’re just a week away from The Force Awakens premiere (unless you’re flying to Paris to see it early), so you’ve undoubtedly seen the trailer many, many times. While the Chinese trailer revealed a lot more about the plot, we still have a lot to figure out about what Episode VII is actually about, even if you pore over the preview shot for shot. There are plenty of clues about the plot and characters to be found, though, so let’s dive in. To see all these easter eggs, be sure to watch the video above.
From the beginning of the trailer, we can pick up a few things about new character Rey, who’s clearly a relic hunter. She’s spelunking into the ruined Imperial Star Destroyer, wearing what could be a repurposed Stormtrooper helmet, and is living in the wrecked leg of an AT-AT. We can also learn more about villain Kylo Ren, who’s a Darth Vader fanatic. He’s modeling himself after the Sith Lord and possibly pursuing Finn’s blue lightsaber, which could be Anakin’s old sword. A well-hidden egg that fans have found is among the artifacts that Han and Finn see: Boba Fett’s insignia. Because not even a Sarlacc pit can keep a overhyped fan favorite down.
