Welcome to Gamma Squad’s regular Friday comic book cosplay feature, spotlighting the best superhero (and villain) related costuming from the cosplay community. We’re casting the spotlight onto those cosplayers who we think deserve special recognition for coming up with the best costumes, whatever the budget, and the photographers who capture them for posterity.
Gamma Squad is committed to giving a voice to the cosplay community that thrives in groups like TheSuperheroCostumingForum.com. Each week we spotlight our favorite costumes and each month we host a cosplay contest. We’ll be picking a theme for each month and inviting cosplayers, costumers and photographers to submit related pictures of their work to our Flickr group to be considered. We’ll then pick our top choices and post them on Gamma Squad for the adoration of all.
The theme for the upcoming month is:
- Spider-man and Friends
But in the meantime, let’s continue with this week’s selection.
There’s no doubting Jean and Emma’s popularity amongst cosplayers, so it’s a pleasure to see them in the same shot, cosplayed by two accomplished costumers.
A memorable take on Poison Ivy here, further improved by excellent photography.
Taking influence from the upcoming Amazing Spider-man movie, this cosplay definitely captures the look of Spidey’s costume.
The Dangerous Ladies never fail to impress and this take on Wonder Woman is another clear winner.
Warlock cosplay by Karl NIghtkarler of TheSuperheroCostumingForum.
A costume that pushes the boundaries of cosplay and presents a character we never thought we’d see. Amazing!
Catwoman by MargieC1022 of TheSuperheroCostumingForum.
A fantastic take on Selina Kyle, hitting all the right notes. Love the goggles, especially! Here’s hoping The Dark Knight Rises version looks as cool.
Everyone loves Little Loki, surely, so we were full of glee when we saw this perfect cosplay from Fix-chan.
Onpaperwings presents us with a stunning Black Widow cosplay.
A Justice League influenced take on Kilowog strips the costume down to the bare essentials, but looks fantastic.
One of the pleasures of doing this weekly post is discovering just how many variations on Deadpool there are. Here’s another for the collection!
