Let’s Liveblog Wednesday’s Geeky TV: ‘Arrow’ Brings Down Buildings

Arrow has struggled a bit this season, and last episode looked like it was going to be more of the same. Then, in the last 15 minutes, it cleared away a huge pile of subplots that were weighing the series down in an incredibly dramatic way, and hopefully let Ollie and company get back to what they do best: Impaling supervillains!

For those who didn’t watch last week, the League of Assassins is no more; Thea is fully healed thanks to a magic potion, so the “bloodlust” plotline is done; Felicity packed her own dad off to jail; and finally, after months and months of wondering why they put up with Malcolm’s crap, Ollie finally gave him the beating he so richly deserved and if that weren’t enough, went Gotham on Malcolm and chopped off his hand. Which, of course, means now whenever Malcolm appears, jokes about how Ollie stumped him that one time are sure to follow.

Malcolm went wee wee wee all the way home to Damien Darhk to tell him about Ollie’s illegitimate child, so either Ollie’s about to inherit an adorable urchin, or, more likely on this show, that kid’s deader than anybody Barry Allen meets on Earth 2. We’ll find out in between Ollie stopping an empty theater being destroyed tonight at 8 p.m. EST on the CW. Join us, won’t you?
