‘Arrow’ Will Have A New Vigilante From ‘Chicago P.D.’ Next Season

The CW DC universe is rapidly expanding. Next season, it’ll have four shows and even Superman is finally showing up, but there’s always room to add more. Arrow, heading into its fifth season, is beefing up its personnel by way of adding a vigilante, er, the Vigilante.

Josh Segarra (Chicago P.D., Sirens) is arriving in Starling City next season as Adrian Chase, Starling’s new district attorney and, of course, crimefighter going by the somewhat unoriginal name Vigilante. It’s unlikely this will be a surprise, not least because you more or less have to be a ninja just to survive holding office in Starling these days. Ollie probably made it part of the job interview.

Adrian Chase was an experimental hero of sorts, back in the 1980s. He was, well, a vigilante, but he was often put into moral conundrums: In an early issue, he beat a suspected criminal into the hospital, only to learn the guy was innocent. In other words, in the Guilt Trip event at the Starling City Games, Ollie might finally have competition for the gold.

Segarra is joining Echo Kellum, who plays Curtis Holt on the series and got a promotion to regular cast member. Holt is Mister Terrific in the comics, and Arsenal (Colton Haynes) is returning for a few episodes, so we’ll have a lot of new heroes getting into fights. At least until Evil, Fun Laur-er, Dark Siren shows up.
