With four seasons of Arrow under this belt (and at least one more to come), Stephen Amell is one of DC Comics’ most recognizable live-action faces. In the past, Amell has made some very partisan pro-DC statements, but it seems like he may be starting to envy the grass over in the Marvel pasture.
In a recent Facebook video, Amell had this to say about the possibility of doing a Marvel movie:
“Sure, why not? I’m up for roles, movie roles, although I’ve never really read many Marvel Comics and I was always a DC guy even before I was a DC guy. But it’s not like if I got offered an awesome Marvel superhero, I’d be like ‘No, I can’t.'”
One reason Amell may be opening the door to Marvel is because, from the the sounds of it, Arrow may not be around for too much longer:
“We were always built to be a five-year show, which is a very courageous thing to plan for when you’re just in the pilot stages of something. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t go six or seven seasons. I can’t really picture beyond that. But we’ll see. I’m having a blast.”
Hopefully Amell does get another opportunity from either DC or Marvel when Arrow wraps up, because he’s certainly proven his superhero skills.
