When we last left the wonderfully-named Ash in the season one finale of Starz’s Ash vs. Evil Dead, our chainsaw-handed hero was off to Jacksonville after having made a rather selfish decision. With Ruby’s promise to leave him, Pablo, and Kelly alone if she could become the all-powerful possessor of the Necronomicon and the evil it would unleash upon the world, Ash took the easy way out and left the rest of the innocent party people to deal with what will certainly be hell on Earth. And for Jacksonville of all places.
Aim higher, Ash.
As we’ve seen in the trailer for season two of Ash vs. Evil Dead, all hell does indeed break loose and Ash’s easy life in Jacksonville becomes a road trip to his hometown of Elk Grove, Michigan, where he vows to “put an end to this horse pucky once and for all.” And there will be blood. Oh yes, more blood than we’ve ever seen on a television in our lives, so sayeth the groovy one.
“There’s an episode that’s basically around the Delta,” Campbell tells EW. “It’s a pretty interesting episode, with perhaps the worst onscreen death in the history of all visual arts. ‘Worst’ meaning ‘most outrageous.’ Like, ‘Am I really watching this happening? Normally, this might be exciting news for fans, but have you watched the season two trailer? His proclamation somehow seems like an understatement. EW also has an exclusive pic of Ash’s car covered in blood, which is a nice look. Not as nice as, say, Ash being motorboated by a female demon in a disgusting bathroom, but nothing can ever be that nice.
