‘Attack On Titan’ Is Finally Getting Its Mythical Season Two

Way back in 2013, an anime series called Attack On Titan made it’s debut on Japanese television and quickly captured the hearts and minds of fans around the world. The show, centered around a team of young soldiers fighting massive man-eating monsters called Titans, ended up becoming one of the most popular series in recent memory, spawning spin-offs, video games, and even live action movies.

But one important part of the Attack on Titan franchise stalled out. For some reason, there still hasn’t been a second season of the Attack on Titan anime since the first season finished years ago. Rumors had the show returning in 2016 because why wouldn’t it? But that was followed by news that there were further delays. But finally (finally!) we at least have a new official date for the continued TV adventures of Eren Jaeger and the mysterious monsters he faces.

According to the show’s Japanese website and twitter accounts, season 2 will air in the spring of 2017.

That translates to “TV anime Attack on Titan Season 2, broadcast information is also new to the public! 2017 is a spring broadcast start! Looking forward to!!”

This is good news for fans who have begun to wonder if we’d ever see more episodes of the show. When the show’s producers announced no season 2 in 2016, they cited a lack of material from the manga to draw from, but the show ended roughly where chapter 33 of the manga finished, and as of April the manga is up to chapter 78.

Fortunately, most of us are happy to quit speculating on what the what is going on so long as we have a release date. With the long awaited season 2 of Attack on Titan finally coming early 2017, we couldn’t be happier.
