These Star Wars Toys Look More Like Star Wars Than The Prequels

Star Wars In Real Life, staged toy photos by Vesa Lehtimaki AKA Avanaut

Finnish illustrator Avanaut (née Vesa Lehtimäki) is known for, among other things, his excellence in staging and photographing miniatures. His newest photo sets on Flickr put Star Wars toys in realistic surroundings, lighting and photographing them in a way which makes them look more real than anything George Lucas added to “enhance” the original trilogy.

Some of the pictures put The Millennium Falcon and Y-Wing fighters in believable landscapes, and others photograph the action figures to make them appear like costumed actors. Avanaut awesomely gave us permission to share some of these photos.

A few of our favorites are collected here, and you can see the others on his Flickr page. Additional photos not currently on his Flickr can be found on his Facebook and Twitter accounts. Thanks to Ryan for the assist.
