Exclusive: ‘Batman: Europa’ Teams Up Batman And… The Joker?

This December, Batman has a problem he can’t solve alone: He’s been infected with a deadly virus. Fortunately, there’s one man he knows better than anybody who can help. Unfortunately, that would be the Joker.

Batman: Europa marks a collaboration between European comics star Matteo Casali and popular writer Brian Azzarello, who took on the Joker with Lee Bermejo in 2008. This time, though, the focus is on the unusual and dangerous dynamic the two of them have as they travel across Europe. Who infected Batman? And why?
