Believe it or not, casting is still heavily underway for Greg Berlanti’s adaptation of Supergirl, and in that spirit a new name has been added to the cast in the form of Calista Flockhart. The former Ally McBeal star is set to play Cat Grant (the employer of Kara, aka Supergirl), with the potential of the role becoming a series regular.
Cat is described as a self-made media magnate and founder of CatCo. She started her career as a reporter and has built her company into a global powerhouse. Kara works at CatCo as her assistant. (via The Wrap)
Currently, Supergirl has itself a direct to series order at CBS with a cast that includes Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, and Laura Benanti. Berlanti will co-write the script with Allison Adler and serve as executive producer.
