‘Captain America: Civil War’ Releases An Official Synopsis, Starts Filming In Two Weeks

Just over a month before Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in theaters, Marvel has thrown us a bone to tide us over in the form of an official synopsis for Captain America: Civil War. Scheduled to begin shooting on April 1 (I’m sure they are and it isn’t a prank), casting notices have been sent out, featuring a short description of the next Captain America movie:

Following the events of Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.

For Marvel nerds (like me), that act is the Superhuman Registration Act, which not only seeks to “regulate all superhuman activity,” but also expose every superhuman’s secret identities. Obviously, Tony Stark doesn’t have this problem, nor does Steve Rogers. But Spider-Man tends to keep his true identity secret, so that’s where Peter Parker comes into play. So, there’s that to get very excited about.

And while it’s never really a good idea to float a fan theory around, one interesting one is how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. might lead into Captain America: Civil War, now that it’s tracking the activity of the Inhumans. Could it be possible that the Superhuman Registration Act is already in its embryonic stages?

What we know for sure is that things are getting to a boiling point with Tony and Steve, and it’s going to be seriously glorious. Stuff is gonna get broken. (Hearts.)

And logs.
