Will Daredevil And The Rest Of Netflix’s ‘The Defenders’ Appear In Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War?’

Marvel has been pretty genius, thus far, in connecting their cinematic universe across both their film and TV properties. Disney owning ABC probably has made that an easier feat. One has to wonder if the studio will also be pursuing further MCU connectivity with their Netflix shows. According to Bleeding Cool, the answer is yes.

This is just a rumor so please, take it with a grain of salt. The report states that The Defenders will make some sort of appearance in Avengers: Infinity War Part 2. Up until now, it’s been the other way around with movie characters showing up on shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter. With Marvel’s expansion into Netflix territory and deeper superhero territory, the move may be a smart one. Especially, when you consider the streaming service has grown its subscriber base by 4.9-million during the first quarter of this year alone.

Netflix’s Daredevil has been a hit out the gate and AKA Jessica Jones will be premiering later this year to hopefully continue that success. We’ll probably be getting that Luke Cage series sometime later in 2016. And then beyond that is the Iron Fist series which would be followed by The Defenders. This all sounds great so I guess the real question is, why would any of these characters show up in an Avengers movie to begin with?

Marvel has the time to figure this out but I speculate if this appearance does happen, it would probably be as a cameo for the studio to promote The Defenders Netflix series, maybe. Then again, we have four years to contemplate this rumor until it does — or does not — see itself to fruition since Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 hits theaters on May 4, 2018, with Part 2 coming on May 3, 2019. What do you think?
