Former Superman Dean Cain Weighs In On ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’

While everyone has an opinion on Batman V Superman, Dean Cain is one of the few who’s an authority. After all, from 1993 to 1997, he was Superman on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. And currently, he’s Supergirl‘s adoptive dad over on CBS, because DC shows love nothing as much as they love casting gags. So inevitably he was asked to weigh in, and, uh, he fell asleep.

No, really. Cain, who has something of a sense of humor about his former job, admits as much to the Hollywood Reporter:

The movie obviously was so well made; the effects were incredible. It was too long, though, and I admit, I dozed off a tiny bit, but maybe that’s because I was tired after a lot of traveling.

Was it during the moment where Wonder Woman looks over her email? We bet it was that moment. Cain does go on to say some very nice things about Henry Cavill, and notes Cavill is lucky to not get stuck in the same Lycra outfit Cain was running around in during the ’90s. But still, it has to sting a little that a former Superman fell asleep during another outing of the Kryptonian, even if he did get slow-roasted by Jon Stewart once. Of course, in current DC continuity, there are actually two Supermen, the current one and one from DC’s previous iteration of continuity, and DC has shown a taste for crossovers. So, hey, maybe Cain can get back in the suit and show everyone how it’s done.
