Footage From HBO’s ‘Westworld’ Proves Ed Harris Looks Amazing As The Yul Brynner Robot

Over the weekend, HBO uploaded their “Year in Review” montage of clips from shows they’ve aired in 2014, plus a bit on the end about what’s coming in 2015. Starting about two minutes in, you’ll notice that apparently there’s going to be more Project Greenlight. Then, after that, there are three seconds of Westworld clips.

Previously, we only had this Vine to go on.

This is the first real footage of Ed Harris in the Yul Brynner “crazed cowboy robot” role (I guessed wrong about it maybe being Rodrigo Santoro.) I accept Ed Harris as my new robot overlord and I really hope he wants to talk about what it was like on the set of The Rock. Or what Gene Kranz is like. Or, anything, basically. It’s Ed Harris.

There’s a brief shot of a nice western-y world looking landscape with cowboys on galloping horseback; also what I presume is the robot factory. I can pretend to contain my excitement about this project but let’s not waste each other’s time. It’s robots and it’s a cast of insanely talented actors… you had me at “robots.”

From EW:

“What we can tell you is that we intend to make the most ambitious, subversive, f–ked-up television series,” says [series producer] Jonathan Nolan. “The things that keep you up at night, any of those things that trouble you—that is exactly what the show is about.”

Mainly, spicy foods before bed keep me up at night, but since I’d watch a killer robot cooking show, there’s no problem here.
