Quicksilver’s Storyline In ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Revealed By Evan Peters

In an interview with Details, Evan Peters revealed a bit about what Quicksilver will be up to in X-Men: Apocalypse, besides saving time in a bottle. I suppose this may be considered a mild spoiler, but anyone who saw X-Men: Days of Future Past should have seen this coming when Quicksilver broke Magneto (Michael Fassbender) out of a plastic prison under the Pentagon and, upon finding out Magneto can control metal, said, “My mom once knew a guy who could do that.”

That inside joke about Peter Maximoff’s absent father is going to be a plotline in Apocalypse, according to Peters:

“The story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world.”

Magneto is being persuaded by ultimate persuader Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) to be one of his Four Horsemen. Convincing Magneto to ignore Apocalypse’s commands is going to take something big; perhaps his own kid can ask him to play catch instead? (Good luck with that one, kid.) Whatever Quicksilver has to do, director Bryan Singer has already dropped hints about it, and Peters has said he has a “bigger and better” scene than this one in X-Men: Days of Future Past:

We may not even have to wait until next May 26 to see more Quicksilver. Singer posted a photo on Instagram on Monday captioned with an announcement that a teaser is coming soon.
