First Pictures of Amy Adams as Lois Lane (Plus Man Of Steel Spoilers)

We have several pictures and spoilers for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot Man of Steel, including snaps of Amy Adams being an uncharacteristically adorable Lois Lane. Warner has also released the first official synopsis of the film in an open casting call sent out in British Columbia.  Here’s that synopsis, via

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Thank Zod they’re telling the origin story, finally.

The rest of the pictures and info we have are spoilers, so that’s after the jump.  If you don’t want to know all that, feel free to stare at the super cat to the right.  He’s scared of spoilers, too.

Here’s a huge spoiler you might want to skim past (go to the next page to skip it). This set includes two gravestones, one reading “Harry Kent, Jr.” and the other reading “Jonathan Kent”, who is Superman’s dad (played by Kevin Costner).  He may have been killed in the tornado (more on that in a moment).

A tipster to io9 says there will be a tornado hitting Smallville in the film, and LatinoReview has set photos backing that up:

The picture above is the Kent farmhouse, which the tipster told io9 was hit by a flying truck.  The tipster also described a scene where Jonathan Kent is taking a young Clark to the pediatrician, where he lets out a super scream that breaks all the windows of the building, a fishtank, a gumball machine, and the cars in the parking lot, including the Kent family station wagon pictured smashed by debris above (that wagon can’t catch a break).  Here are a couple pictures of that “Smallville Pediatrics” set:

They know most small towns don’t have an extra clinic just for kids, right?  Back in my day, we got our check up at the windowless building attached to the old folks’ home and we liked it half of us died of scabies.
