Consoles, PCs, handhelds, Facebook, smartphones — the world of gaming is becoming increasingly confusing and fragmented, but don’t worry, we’re here to simplify things for you. Each week I’ll rattle off five games I think you might want to check out this week. Keep in mind, these articles aren’t meant to be comprehensive lists of everything coming out that week so much as a nice rounded tasting menu. So, let’s get to it…

This Week’s Action RPG

Battle Princess of Arcadias (PS3, June 17th)

Battle Princess of the Arcadias is a new side-scrolling action-RPG featuring a very pretty hand-drawn art style. Basically, the game looks like a solid imitation of Vanillaware games like Odin Sphere and Dragon’s Crown, just with less jiggling boobs. Don’t look for this one in stores, it’s only available through PSN.

This Week’s Rhythm Puzzle Game

Magical Beat (PS Vita, June 17th)

From the makers of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, comes Magical Beat, a game that mixes match-three puzzling with rhythm game timing. It looks slightly mind boggling, but fun. Much like the last game, this one’s only available via PSN.

This Week’s Obscure Sim Game

Pro Cycling Manager 2014 (PC, June 19th)

Until things pick up again, it looks like the weekly obscure sim game is going to be a regular thing! This week, Pro Cycling Manager 2014. I’m sure some people must be interested in this. French people probably.
