VacantManifesto were paid $100 to make a commercial about “drunken revolutionaries” for local taqueria Cantina in Birmingham, AL.  They say the entire budget went into the robot costume.  When given $100 for a project, always build a robot costume.  Always.  Boss wants some spreadsheets in fancy binders?  Robot costume.  Somebody wants their taxes done?  Robot costume.  Wife wants you to update the lighting fixtures in the entryway?  Robot costume.  Sure, they might get enraged, but any blows they rain upon you will be buffered by a sweet fricken robot costume.

The commercial is below, along with a clip of MacGyver battling Bigfoot, which is completely germane to this discussion.

When not writing for Uproxx, Caleb likes to volunteer at the legless cat shelter and photoshop the Babadook into all of his family photos. He once resolved the question “To be or not to be?” through the clever use of General Semantics. Your mom thinks you could be more like him if you only applied yourself.
