Remember when we reported Juno Temple’s casting in The Dark Knight Rises as a “street-smart Gotham girl”? And when we reported that Nolan’s version of Catwoman may be a stripper? Well now these two stories scissored and the result is something awesome. Total Film magazine printed an unsubstantiated but sexy rumor (the best kind) that Temple will be playing Holly Robinson. If you don’t know why that’s awesome yet, allow us to explain with a crudely drawn picture. Wait, I’m getting a text message. Oh, our advertisers say if I post that drawing they’ll cancel our contracts and also call my mother. So I guess I’ll just have to explain this one with this fancy thing we in the business call “words”.
The character of Holly Robinson was introduced in Frank Miller’s “Batman: Year One”. I’m sure you’ll be shocked to hear that this female character in a Frank Miller story is a teenage prostitute. She lives with Catwoman, is her protégée, and even took over the cowl for a little while. Total Film is reporting Temple will be playing Catwoman’s prostitute sidekick. If true, this lends credence to my theory that Hollywood means “whore” whenever they refer to a young blonde woman as “street smart”. That said, we completely support her playing Holly Robinson as long as this doesn’t interfere with her appearance in the teenage lesbian werewolf movie she’s also cast in. Speaking of which, we need to send her agent a lovely fruit basket. We’ll even throw in some crude drawings we have lying about.
