One of the most intriguing comic book films on the docket for next year is David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. Starring an ensemble cast featuring Jared Leto and Will Smith, one imagines the casting process for this one had to be insane. At least for one of the cast members, that wasn’t the case. According to Margot Robbie – who plays Harley Quinn in the film – there was no audition process for her. Rather, the actress was offered the role straight away, supposedly because it was already known to the studio that she worked well with her Focus co-star Will Smith, someone with whom the character of Harley has a lot of screen time with in the film.
There you have it. If you want to succeed in Hollywood, get along with Will Smith.
