Marvel Has An ‘Inhumans Vs. X-Men’ Event Series On The Way

All branches of the Marvel Entertainment entertainment apparatus have been on a roll this Comic-Con, with new logos for Thor: Ragnarok and Captain Marvel (plus a confirmed casting for the latter), as well as trailers for the upcoming Doctor Strange and the amazing looking FX series Legion, which is headed to television in early 2017. Another major announcement was made about a crazy cool upcoming Marvel project this weekend as well, and it could end up being the most exciting of the bunch. At the “Marvel: Cup O’ Joe” panel on Saturday, Marvel announced a six-issue event series about an X-Men vs Inhumans face-off.

Written by Jeff Lemire and Charles Soule, and illustrated by artist Leinil Yu, the issues will center around all mutants trying to destroy the Terrigen Mists and the Inhumans trying to make sure that specifically doesn’t happen. According to ComicBook.com, the official logline for this story is being reported as,

With the vitality of their own species at risk, the Inhuman royal family calls on the aid of Inhumans from across the Marvel universe – including Quake, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Girl – to defend their catalyst for their future existence.

Which sounds exciting if not also filled with high stakes and some world-altering fallout depending on how the clash ends after this limited run. From these early details, this story already feels like it could make a great television miniseries down the line.
