Alleged Douchebag Accused Of Stealing Disabled Man’s Superman Collection Is Now In Jail

I’m sitting in a damn hospital bed with a gall bladder infection right now (which is probably why the Monday Rex in the previous post seemed apropos), so it was nice to see a story of things turning out right for a change. Police have recovered Mike Meyer’s stolen Superman collection when a suspect in a robbery matched the description of “Gary” in the Meyer case:

The suspect, 37-year-old Gerry Armbruster of Granite City, was charged with burglary, robbery and aggravated battery. His bond was set at $100,000. [KMOV via ComicsAlliance]

Meyer, as you may recall, has been receiving free Superman comics and memorabilia by concerned internet do-gooders. Here’s something awesome: since Meyer has his collection back, he tells STLToday he’ll be donating all the comics he received as gifts to a local children’s hospital. “People were generous to me; this is how I can be generous in return,” he says, presumably while standing in front of a jumbotron displaying a waving American flag, puppies in military garb, and the President wakeboarding across Osama Bin Laden’s stupid dead face.
