The Latest ‘Orphan Black’ Season Four Teaser Will Discourage You From Wearing Contacts

When she’s not too busy earning an Emmy Award nomination and revealing her secrets for telling the many clones of Orphan Black apart, BBC America star Tatiana Maslany is busy popping up in things like the latest teaser for the fourth season. Or at least it might be her. In any case, it’s the eyeball from one of the hit science fiction series’ cast members in the 15-second shot… OMG WHAT IS THAT, THEIR EYEBALL IS WEIRD.

Seriously. What the hell is up with that weird, metallic, camera-with-five-lenses-in-the-eyeball thing about? LOOK AT IT.

Anyone brave enough to wear contacts deserves equal parts respect and condemnation, but a weird futuristic camera-as-a-pupil? No thanks. Not even if it’s a computer-generated effect — which it obviously is.

Also, what’s with the teaser’s unsurprising tagline? “Keep an eye out for April 2016”? Yes, the next season of Orphan Black hits BBC America in April 2016, so the slogan’s date makes sense. But “keep an eye out”? KEEP. AN. EYE. OUT.

Aside from the obvious, this could mean a number of things:

  • If your eye looks like this, pull it out.
  • If your eye doesn’t look like this, pull it out.
  • If anyone else’s eye does or doesn’t look like this, pull it out.
  • PULL ALL THE EYES OUT.

Gross, grossity gross-gross. EYEBALLS WITH MACHINE PARTS ARE GROSS.
