Star Wars Spoiler Alert: Oscar Isaac Hints About Being In ‘Star Wars Episode VIII’

If you didn’t want to know about a character who’ll almost assuredly survive Star Wars: The Force Awakens, then sorry about the headline. Oscar Isaac, who plays newcomer Poe Dameron in the film, talked briefly to Moviefone about Star Wars — as well as briefly speaking on his role as the titular Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse — while promoting his new film, the pretty glorious Ex Machina.

Following up on the announcement that Star Wars Episode VIII is set for a release date of May 26, 2017, from writer/director Rian Johnson, Moviefone asked Isaac if he was excited about working with Johnson. He said yes, but he hasn’t talked to him yet.

This may not seem like a big deal, but saying you’ll be working with the director of Star Wars Episode VIII when you’re a character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is certainly relevant to our interests. Not that we had any doubt X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron would live through The Force Awakens at the very least. Especially if he can pilot as well as he can dance…
