Pack Your Parka, 'Far Cry 4' Is Probably Heading To The Himalayas

Ubisoft

One of the cornerstones of the Far Cry series has always been lush, tropical landscapes, but apparently that’s about to change, as new rumors unearthed by Eurogamer point to Far Cry 4 taking place in the snowy Himalayas. Oh, and also you’ll be able to saddle up and ride elephants in the game, which is certainly something I’ve never experienced in a shooter before.

Aside from the new snowy locale, the team that made Far Cry 3 is handling the game, so expect it to play similarly to the well-received last entry in the series. Far Cry 4 will probably arrive 2014 or early 2015, but we’ll be getting our first peek at it before long — Eurogamer says the game will be a big focus at E3 this year.

Snowy mountaintops are certainly a bit of an underused locale in video games, so I’m interested to see where this goes. I’m even more interested to see the eventual Blood Dragon-esque DLC. Bring on the neon pink fire-breathing elephants!
