Sir David Attenborough Narrating ‘Pokemon Go’ Is The Classiest Thing You’ll See Today

There are a few things you can always rely on to make something better. Guile’s theme from Street Fighter 2 can be added to any video to make what you’re watching more heroic. And if you want to make any activity seem more noble and intelligent, just add some Sir David Attenborough.

The British naturalist, best known for his stunning Planet Earth and Life documentaries, can add gravitas to anything… even Pokemon Go, as proven by this video from Irish Facebook page Lovin Dublin. It takes clips of Attenborough describing various wildlife and lays them over the immensely popular augmented reality game from Nintendo and Niantic, and the results are rather poetic.

“Bats, with their fluttering zigzag flight, are not easy targets,” he comments as a trainer attempts to hit a Zubat with a pokeball. On the third attempt, the Zubat is captured. “That is one bat that will not return to the roost tonight,” Attenborough says gravely.

Perhaps this is a feature Niantic can add to the game in the future. I know I’d play more if Sir David Attenborough was narrating my journey. He could also remind players not to play the game inside funeral homes and holocaust museums, and keep them from stumbling into minefields. Y’know, to make sure we all make it home to our roosts tonight.
