Earlier this month, Wheatley from Portal 2 was nominated for a Video Game Award from Spike in the “Character Of The Year” category, so Valve made this video voiced by Stephen Merchant, which some fans interpreted as a convoluted hint about Half-Life 3. Valve also made a video to broadcast if Wheatley won the VGA, and of course there will be some who think everything in it is a hint about something (like assuming him saying “maybe next year” means Portal 3 is only a year away instead of the phrase being, you know, a joke).
Wheatley went up against The Joker, Nathan Drake, and Marcus Fenix for the award and lost to The Joker, but we still have Wheatley’s acceptance speech (below).
