Check Out The Real-Life Superhero Tech You Wish You Had Your Hands On

Not a day goes by where I wish I could grappling hook out of an awkward situation. Or even any situation. Honestly, it doesn’t have to be awkward. How great would it be to pay your dinner bill, then shoot a grappling hook into the sky, be lifted from your seat and have your napkin cartoonishly fall back down to the table below. My dinner mates would probably say something quippy like, “he didn’t tip” or something like that, then a crisp $10 bill would follow the napkin and gently land on top of the bill before we would break into the second act (me going to bed).

Not every piece of superhero tech would be as useful as a grappling hook, but there are some real-life versions of the gear made famous by Batman, Iron Man and Captain America out there. Engineers Allen Pan and Grant Imahara have made Iron Man’s gauntlet, complete with a working laser, in addition to a semi-authentic version of Cap’s shield, that’s actually a drone.

While these items are a far cry from the “real thing,” we won’t really need to be concerning ourselves with superheroic technology as long as we don’t stumble upon a real-life Thanos wielding his tech — the Infinity Gauntlet.
