Outside his hotel window? Like, twelve frikken wookiees dude.

There’s a rumor that David Lynch was asked to direct Return of the Jedi (which was ultimately directed by Richard Marquand).  It turns out this is actually true, and Lynch discussed the meeting with ForaTV (video below, via Joblo).  Lynch says he had “next door to zero interest” in doing the film.  Then he discusses the extensive security procedures required to get into the same room as Lucas, how he reacted the first time he saw a Wookiee, and what it’s like to go for a ride in George’s Ferrari.  Then Lynch mentions something we probably all suspected already, “[Lucas] doesn’t really love directing”.  Um, yeah.  That’s a nice way of putting it.
