“Saints Row: The Third” comes out November 15th in the US (and three days later in Europe), but the character creator is already live on Xbox and we’ve also got a video of the first mission, where an actor who seems familiar is doing research by accompanying the gang on a bank heist gone wrong. Although it’s not quite as wonderfully insane as the trailer, this clip does show the gang tearing through a bank, SWAT team, and helicopters while wearing oversized Johnny Gat bobblehead masks (so meta). It probably would have been better if they took it off easy mode and showed a more experience player in charge, but we’ll take what we can get.
The clip doesn’t show it much, but there’s also a VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) vehicle available in the game. You can hover with it or switch to jet mode, and, of course, it comes with a laser weapon and chargeable swarm missiles to use on the city of Steelport below. I must possess this. Not just the game. I mean the VTOL. In real life. My neighbors’ tacky lawn decorations are begging to get lasered.
