Michael Keaton has been rumored to be in talks for Spider-Man: Homecoming since last month, but then Robert Downey Jr.’s paycheck seemed to have sidelined paying for Keaton, as well. Then negotiations reportedly resumed, possibly because Captain America: Civil War is making so much money they can buy a Batman if they want to. Now Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watt seems to confirm Keaton has signed on with this tweet of Keaton celebrating:

He is rumored to be playing The Vulture, which would add another flight-based costume to his closet. We hope he also gets cast as a pterodactyl in Jurassic World 2.
In other Spider-Man: Homecoming news, there was a questionable rumor going around that Kingpin/Wilson Fisk might make an appearance (though the character is currently sidelined in Netflix’s Daredevil, his first appearance was in Amazing Spider-Man #50), but current Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio doesn’t think it’s likely.

We don’t immediately see where Kingpin would fit into this storyline, and having both Keaton and D’Onofrio as villains in something might be too much intensity for mortal minds to handle when Spider-Man: Homecoming opens July 7, 2017.
