Let’s Talk Tuesday’s Geeky TV: ‘The Flash’ Brings In Kevin Smith To Direct

Last time on The Flash, Zoom showed up to take over Earth-1 for, um, reasons, so Harrison Wells and Cisco had to at least try and give Barry his powers back. In the process, they vaporized Barry and hit both Wally West and Jessie Wells in the blast. So, the show has retired Barry, right? Not exactly…

It appears this episode, directed by Kevin Smith of jorts and ’90s indie movie fame, will send Barry to a creepy reality not unlike the Red Room where Barry “can’t escape.” He will, of course, probably after confronting a difficult truth about himself. So, uh, hope Jessie and Wally can book it since Zoom wants their speed. We’ll find out tonight at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.

Meanwhile, if you wanted a follow-up to Civil War:

Supposedly this episode of Agents of SHIELD will build off the Sokovia Accords introduced in Captain America: Civil War, although it seems more like SHIELD is going to fight a dude whose Inhuman power is to fight with a chain whip that he lights on fire, possibly while a metal solo plays. If his name is Simon Belmont, somebody’s getting sued. We’ll find out tonight at 9 p.m. EST on ABC. Join us, won’t you?
