Apparently Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson just wasn’t quite busy enough. Sure, Johnson is already involved in Fast 8, Baywatch, Moana, Shazam!, Jumanji, Rampage, San Andreas 2 and Doc Savage (and probably a few other things), but the big guy has gone and added yet another project to his already stuffed slate. Overworked? It doesn’t matter what you think of The Rock’s workload!

According to Deadline, Johnson will produce a movie based on the graphic novel Son of Shaolin. So far, the producer role is all Johnson has committed to, although come on, it’s The Rock. He’s going to end up on screen in some capacity. Maybe as a very loud, dick-joke-obsessed sensei? Master of Brahma Bull style.

Son of Shaolin, created and written by Jay Longino, may not sound familiar because it hasn’t even hit shelves yet. It’s a contemporary American kung-fu story that mixes Shaolin history and mythology with issues faced by teens growing up in an urban, gentrifying neighborhood. In other words, it sounds like a pretty good movie pitch. Longino is also the writer of the upcoming Jackie Chan flick Skiptrace and, uh, Bachelor Part 2: The Last Temptation. Shrug.

As always, keep a close eye on Uproxx for the latest Dwayne Johnson news, as I’m sure he’s going to announce another half-dozen projects between now and next week.
