As you might have noticed, the Uproxx GammaStream ran into a few technical difficulties last week. However, I have fixed those technical issues with liberal applications of a sledgehammer, and now we’re back. And what better way to start than with relentless one-on-one violence?
Yes, Mortal Kombat X will be the subject of our stream today. I’d offer you a quick overview of the story, but basically it boils down to this: An ancient evil is attempting to take over our world, so we’re going to punch it until it cries and goes away. Oh, also, since the events of the last game, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade have hooked up, and had a daughter, who apparently has been taught since birth about how to rip out a man’s sternum and beat him to death with it. If Johnny tries to get in a match with his daughter, is he arrested by Earthrealm CPS for child abuse?
Anyway, I’ll be playing through the towers and the single fights, starting at 2:35pm EST and wrapping up at 4:30ish. This is mostly because I’m pretty terrible at fighting games and the crushing humiliation of getting my ass beat will be slightly mitigated if I can blame cheap AI.
