I suppose they do trucking just a little bit differently over there in New Zealand. For starters, badass truckers like Steven McCormack here will sometimes sit on top of their rig’s compressed air hose and fill up like Kirby. See, Steven was standing around on the truck’s foot plate when all of a sudden he slipped. And what better place to pop a squat than on the air hose that would usually be powering the massive vehicle’s brakes?
The Whakatane Beacon were kind enough to meet up with McCormack, in the hospital, and ask the guy to relive the horrifying experience again. aloud.
“I was blowing up like a football… it felt like I had the bends, like in diving,” Steven McCormack told the Whakatane Beacon. “I had no choice but just to lay there, blowing up like a balloon.”
“It’s not in the textbooks, and it’s the first time anyone I know has seen it as well,” said Dr. Barnaby Smith [thedailywh.at]
Lucky for Steven’s bung, his pals were able to cut the power to the hose, though not before the air had literally separated the fat, inside his body, from the muscle. Thankfully he’s expected to make a full recovery and absolutely guaranteed a nightlife’s worth of night terrors.
