We don’t know a lot about the upcoming Iron Fist series on Netflix. In fact, it hasn’t even cast a lead yet and won’t start shooting until next year. But there’s already rumors about how it will tie to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically with a cameo.
According to Bleeding Cool, once you scroll past the inside-baseball, you find they’ve got a rumor that Benedict Cumberbatch will be making a cameo in Iron Fist, playing Doctor Strange. In fact, it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility that Iron Fist will tie into the events of Doctor Strange; the two will be coming out fairly close together if Marvel’s timeline holds.
It’s also not unprecedented in the comics for Strange and Iron First to be teamed up, or at least consult with each other, especially recently. Besides, it would continue the trend of Marvel’s TV series being lightly connected to the movies; just like Daredevil wouldn’t be possible without the Avengers trashing New York, it’d be interesting to see which ties everyone’s favorite yellow-masked martial artist has to Marvel’s spiritual netherworld.
That said, let’s not dig too deeply, Marvel. Nobody wants Wundarr The Aquarian on a screen.
